The Art of Not Knowing: A Mini Creative RetreatOctober 17, 2:00pm - 5:00pm (ALREADY PASSED)Painting By Class Fee: $40.00Class Fee: $35.00 materials fee
Skill Level: All
What happens when you stop trying to make art “right” and let yourself play instead?
This retreat-inspired workshop is an invitation to slow down, experiment, and follow your curiosity. We’ll begin with intuitive mark-making—building layers of line, shape, color, texture, and unexpected marks without worrying about what the finished piece is supposed to become.
From there, Lori will introduce simple techniques for drawing and painting the human eye, allowing a recognizable image to emerge from the marks and layers already on the canvas.
Along the way, we’ll explore what it feels like to create without a plan, work alongside the inner critic instead of obeying it, and trust the creative process a little more.
Participants will work with acrylic paint and mixed-media mark-making tools on canvas. No drawing or painting experience is necessary. This is less about making everyone’s painting look the same and more about discovering what happens when you give yourself permission to make yours.
