Me and my family handcraft African baskets using elephant grass, carefully woven by hand using techniques passed down through generations. We naturally dye the grass with plant-based colors made from vegetables, leaves, bark, and trees, giving each basket its own unique patterns and tones. Every piece is finished with leather-wrapped handles for strength and comfort, making each basket both functional and deeply rooted in tradition.

I do bronze figures of mostly animals, both naturalistic and whimsical. The Sacramento Zoo is displaying one of my full size Emperor Penguins. I also have dabbled in monuments, for instance a memorial for the Caldor Fire. And a bust of Pope Francis.

Camellia Chapter is a fun, inviting group of stitchers who love to expand their stitching knowledge and expertise through Chapter hands-on programs, correspondence and in-person classes, workshops, retreats, seminars, online classes, and virtual lectures featuring nationally known teachers. We welcome and invite all levels of stitchers, from beginner to advanced. Our hybrid meetings (in person and/or remote access through Zoom) are held monthly. We actively participate in Outreach projects such as stitching “Welcome” samplers for new Habitat for Humanity homeowners, and sponsor “Stitch in Public” events throughout the area.

Handmade jewelry and clothing - an eclectic inspiring mix!
I’m a young artist who enjoys creating illustrations and drawing anime inspired character. I especially enjoy creating my own original characters, as well as drawing characters from different media that I enjoy. I love exploring with different art styles, including realism, semi-realism, cartoons and anime. I’m always looking for new ideas and techniques to incorporate into my artwork, with a primary focus on digital art.
Two thirds of my work is ceramic, the other portion is full fused glass jewelry. I exclusively use a porcelain clay body. I have two bodies of ceramic work: functional and sculptural. In my functional body of work I focus on vases, mugs, bowls, and planters. I hand carve a variety of vases so the glaze can break and pool over the carved porcelain. When I hand build sculptures I primarily utilize the slab building technique, degrading the surface with an x-acto blade. I utilize atmospheric firings, and cone 6 oxidation. Through my variety of kiln firing methods I have utilized over the years I have now learned how to fire my electric kiln to full fuse glass, tac fuse and polish fire for my glass jewelry. I fire majority of the glass earrings and pendants I create multiple times. Each medium is process intense with several steps to complete. This all done in my home studio, here in Northern California.
